About Former Delegate Cheryl Turpin
Cheryl Turpin is a mother, public high school teacher, and former legislator running with the belief, "If you want to see our future, take a look at our classrooms." Delegate Turpin wants to build a Virginia Beach where public school, public safety, public health employees and small businesses are at the forefront of decisions that face Virginia Beach.
Cheryl Turpin served as a member of the Virginia House of Delegates, representing the 85th District, which includes part of Virginia Beach. She first won a special election in 2017 to fill the seat left vacant by Scott Taylor, who was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives.
With a solid background in education, having worked as a public high school teacher, Turpin brings a wealth of experience and passion for educational issues. During her tenure in the House of Delegates, she was a strong advocate for education, healthcare, and environmental protection.
